Linda Gallus

Calico Ceilings

Linda Gallus is a full-time artist whose lifelong passion for drawing, painting and making began in childhood and led to a career teaching secondary school art and craft. Alongside her teaching, she developed an extensive exhibition practice, drawing inspiration from family history, historic buildings and landscapes.

By combining real places with imagined elements, her paintings create evocative narratives that invite viewers to explore stories of place, memory and mystery. Her work has also been featured on the official website supporting the Victorian Goldfields’ UNESCO World Heritage Bid, recognising her contribution to interpreting the region’s rich cultural heritage through art.

Her paintings are distinguished by their technical precision, rich textures and layered surfaces, balancing expressive brushwork with intricate detail. Much of Linda’s recent work explores the lives of women on the Victorian goldfields, inspired by the discovery of her own ancestors’ experiences and the poetry of Susan Kruss. Through these deeply researched and imaginative works, she honours the resilience, strength and untold stories of women whose lives helped shape Australia’s history.

Terence Bogue

Enigma

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Terence Bogue studied at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles in the early 1960s before working for renowned photographer Adrian Flowers in London. After migrating to Australia in 1974, he established a Melbourne studio in 1979 specialising in photography for artists, galleries and museums.

Today, his practice focuses on publication and exhibition photography. His work is held in private and public collections in Brazil, the United Kingdom and Australia, including the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, Castlemaine Art Museum and the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra.

Terence’s photographic practice explores themes of façade, costume, uniform and adornment, examining how they shape identity, perception and prejudice across different cultures and periods.
